| Daily Rituals for the New Era |
| by Kathy Pinna |
| Rituals in the last era presupposed that the human had no power to affect physical reality. The “gods” (and/or “goddesses,” that is, energies from outside of physical reality) had the real power. And since survival was the primary focus of existence, rituals were meant to please the gods/goddesses and therefore ensure continued existence for human beings. This meant that the rituals were about acting out physical circumstances. For instance, the bringing in of the harvest was done in a specific way by particular individuals – at least in the case of the first fruits of the harvest. Once harvest was finished, a feast was arranged with the belief that filling the belly was a guarantee that the belly would continue to be full. And bonfires, or even wicker representations of humans, were lit. These were fed with herbs and other vegetation – sending the smoke to the gods. In this way, the gods could also participate in the bounty of the harvest and be pleased, thus assuring survival. As time came nearer to the present era, these rituals became less physical and more conceptual. Humans believed that they had a little more power in their world (for instance, scientific knowledge) and worried more about how to make their personal lives more successful. However, it is a fact of human existence that no being is satisfied (secure) unless there is some type of connection with the inner world. And these conceptual rituals, almost done by rote with no sense of the inner meaning and/or not invested by Power, became less capable of creating that connection. Therefore, new rituals are now in the process of being created. But you are not yet at a time where those new rituals exist physically. And this leaves you in a quandary. As an aware Being, you are not able to use a mass consciousness ritual that is no longer powerful. Nor do you have the ability to ignore your need for a connection. (You are intuitive and the inner world is a powerful force in your everyday life). The following, then, serve as a basis for your own connection. Be sure to adjust them for yourself and allow them to evolve over time. Although you may not understand how these rituals work, perform them. Even without understanding, the connection is being made and that connection will subsequently help you to move in your daily life. These rituals set you on the “right path.” (Some aspects of the following are from the old era. They are still powerful, but please remember to perform them with an awareness of how life works now. You may adjust them as you see fit, especially in changing the colors to suit your needs) The flame Breathe deeply and see (visualize) a blue flame moving around the perimeter of your (house) space. This should include any yard or outside space. When the flame meets at the beginning, allow it to flare up, joining at the top and bottom. This will create a globe of blue flame. See the globe being filled with white or golden light. This will keep out all unwanted influences. Salt Breathe deeply and calm yourself. Then sprinkle a few grains of salt in each corner of your home or office. As you do, keep breathing and stay calm and centered. This will neutralize all energies in the space, allowing you to begin anew. It is always best to do this when you move into a new place, but it can also be used as a support for changing the pathway that is being walked within an “old” place. Clearing and protecting at night When you get in bed and are going to sleep, take a deep breath. Then state: “I AM letting go of everything that happened today. All that is no longer useful to me is falling away. I AM the beloved child of the universe. So be it.” This will allow you to enter the sleep state at peace. During sleep (which we call nighttime activity), then, you can explore creative new ways to manifest your daily life. Clearing and protecting in the morning Sometime soon after arising, take a deep conscious breath. State: “I AM beginning anew. Anything wondrous can happen today. I open to the support and love of the universes and my own Being. I AM protected. So be it.” You will begin the day anew, rather than holding on to the “past” - recreating and sustaining past events. You will also be aware of the love and support that is always with you. Conscious Breathing Breathe in deeply through the nose, feeling your belly expand with the air you breathe in. Hold the breath for a couple of moments. Then breathe out fully through the mouth, feeling your belly deflate. As you breathe in, you are breathing in the energies of the world. As you hold your breath, you are mixing those energies with your own energies (thoughts, feelings, desires). As you breathe out, you are sending this mixture of energies out into the world. Be aware of this. Conscious breathing allows you to consciously move and change the energies of the world around you—thereby changing the physical aspect of the world you live in. The more you do this, the more quickly the physical world aligns with your needs, wants and wishes. Biography of Author: Kathleen Pinna is an author, lecturer, and intuitive life coach.
